Description
A simple and delicious recipe for air fryer pork chops, seasoned with smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Pat pork chops completely dry with paper towels. This helps achieve a nice sear.
- In a small bowl, combine the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried thyme, black pepper, and salt.
- Rub the olive oil over both sides of the pork chops. Then, generously sprinkle and rub the seasoning mixture all over the pork chops.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.
- Place the seasoned pork chops in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they don’t overlap. You may need to cook them in batches depending on the size of your air fryer.
- Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping the pork chops halfway through (after about 6-7 minutes). The exact cooking time will depend on the thickness of your chops and your air fryer model.
- Cook until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C) for medium-rare, or 160°F (71°C) for medium, measured with an instant-read thermometer.
- Once cooked, remove the pork chops from the air fryer and let them rest on a plate or cutting board for 5 minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute, keeping them tender and juicy.
Notes
- Patting the pork chops dry is crucial for a good sear.
- Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
- Resting the pork chops after cooking is important for juiciness.
