Description

Deliciously moist and chewy brownie bars with a flavorful apple and cinnamon topping, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 fuji apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and spray an 8×8 baking pan with baking spray.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, sugar, brown sugar, vanilla, butter, and apples.
  3. In a second bowl, sift together flour, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  4. Whisk the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle with chopped pecans, if using.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Ensure apples are chopped into small, uniform pieces for even distribution.
  • Do not overmix the batter after adding the dry ingredients to maintain a tender texture.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before slicing to prevent them from falling apart.
