Description
A classic Caprese salad recipe featuring fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and balsamic glaze.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ripe tomatoes, sliced ¼-inch thick (heirloom or beefsteak work well)
- 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced ¼-inch thick
- ½ cup fresh basil leaves
- 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
- ½ teaspoon flaky sea salt
- ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Arrange the sliced tomatoes and mozzarella on a platter, alternating and overlapping them.
- Tuck the fresh basil leaves in between the tomato and mozzarella slices.
- Drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil evenly over the entire salad.
- Then, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper just before serving.
- Serve immediately at room temperature for the best flavor.
