Description

A classic Caprese salad recipe featuring fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, olive oil, and balsamic glaze.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ripe tomatoes, sliced ¼-inch thick (heirloom or beefsteak work well)
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced ¼-inch thick
  • ½ cup fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • ½ teaspoon flaky sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper


Instructions

  1. Arrange the sliced tomatoes and mozzarella on a platter, alternating and overlapping them.
  2. Tuck the fresh basil leaves in between the tomato and mozzarella slices.
  3. Drizzle the extra-virgin olive oil evenly over the entire salad.
  4. Then, drizzle the balsamic glaze over the top.
  5. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper just before serving.
  6. Serve immediately at room temperature for the best flavor.
