Description

A simple and elegant Caprese skewers salad featuring fresh tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, drizzled with olive oil and balsamic glaze.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella pearls (or a block cut into ½-inch cubes)
  • 1 large bunch of fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • Flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • About 20-25 small wooden skewers

Instructions

  1. To assemble the skewers, thread one cherry tomato onto a skewer.
  2. Fold a fresh basil leaf in half and thread it on next.
  3. Follow with a mozzarella pearl.
  4. Repeat the pattern one more time with a tomato, basil leaf, and mozzarella pearl so that each skewer has two sets of the ingredients.
  5. Arrange the completed skewers on a serving platter.
  6. Just before serving, drizzle the skewers evenly with the extra-virgin olive oil and the balsamic glaze.
  7. Sprinkle lightly with flaky sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
  8. Serve immediately as an appetizer or a light snack.

Notes

  • Ensure basil leaves are large enough to be folded and threaded onto the skewer.
  • Adjust the amount of olive oil and balsamic glaze to your preference.
  • These skewers are best served fresh.
