Description

Easy and festive Christmas cookies made quickly using a box of cake mix, perfect for holiday baking.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (15.25 ounces) vanilla, yellow, or white cake mix
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles (red, green, and white Christmas sprinkles recommended)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. Stir in the sprinkles until evenly distributed.
  4. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, about 2 inches apart.
  5. Bake for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are set. Do not overbake.
  6. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Ensure the butter is fully melted before mixing.
  • Do not overbake to keep the cookies soft and chewy.
  • You can substitute the vanilla cake mix with other flavors like almond or lemon for variety.
