Description

These Cinnamon Pretzel Bites are a delicious and easy-to-make treat, perfect for snacking or sharing. They combine the satisfying chewiness of pretzels with a sweet cinnamon-sugar coating.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (16.5 ounces) of breadstick dough (Pillsbury Original Breadsticks recommended)
  • 8 cups of water
  • 1 tablespoon baking soda
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoons cinnamon
  • 4 tablespoons salted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Unroll the breadstick dough and separate it. Slice each breadstick into 4 pieces.
  2. Bring 8 cups of water to a boil, then add the baking soda and 1 tablespoon kosher salt.
  3. Working in batches, place 4-6 pieces of dough in the boiling water for about 15-20 seconds.
  4. After a few seconds, flip them over.
  5. Remove from the pan with a slotted spoon, tap to remove excess water, and place on a cookie sheet prepared with parchment paper.
  6. Continue until all pretzel bites are boiled.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes, until they start to turn golden on top.
  8. Melt 4 tablespoons of salted butter in a small bowl.
  9. Add half the sugar (1/2 cup) and half the cinnamon (1.5 tablespoons) to a gallon size Ziploc bag, seal, and shake to combine.
  10. Dip baked pretzels into the melted butter and place in the cinnamon sugar mixture (a few at a time) and shake carefully to coat.
  11. Place coated pretzels on a cookie sheet and repeat until all pretzels are done, replenishing the sugar/cinnamon about halfway through.

Notes

  • Using Pillsbury Original Breadsticks is recommended for best results.
  • Ensure the water is boiling before adding the dough.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan when boiling the pretzel bites.
  • Adjust baking time as needed to achieve desired golden brown color.
  • You can adjust the amount of cinnamon and sugar coating to your preference.
  • For an extra sweet treat, consider a cream cheese glaze or a caramel dip.
