A simple and savory appetizer made with breakfast sausage, cream cheese, Bisquick, and sharp Cheddar cheese, baked until golden brown.
Ingredients
- 1 pound hot breakfast sausage (like Jimmy Dean), uncooked
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
- 1 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the uncooked sausage, softened cream cheese, Bisquick, and shredded Cheddar cheese.
- Using your hands (or a stand mixer with a paddle attachment), mix until all ingredients are thoroughly combined and a uniform dough forms.
- Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and the sausage is cooked through.
- Serve warm. These can be made ahead and reheated, or frozen after baking.
