Description
A creamy and flavorful chicken dish featuring tender chicken cutlets coated in a seasoned flour mixture and smothered in a rich garlic parmesan sauce.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken cutlets (or 2 large chicken breasts, halved lengthwise)
- 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a shallow bowl, whisk together the flour, onion powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Dredge each chicken cutlet thoroughly in the seasoned flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Carefully place the breaded chicken into the hot skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 4-6 minutes per side, depending on thickness.
- Once cooked, transfer the chicken to a plate and set aside, keeping it warm.
- Reduce the heat to low. If needed, add a small amount of extra oil to the skillet. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about one minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, and heavy cream. Stir well to combine all ingredients.
- Increase the heat to bring the sauce to a gentle boil, then reduce to a simmer and let it cook for approximately 10 minutes, allowing it to thicken and reduce slightly.
- Stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese until it melts smoothly into the sauce.
- Return the cooked chicken cutlets to the skillet, nestling them into the creamy sauce, and warm for a few minutes.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley before serving. Enjoy this rich, comforting dish!
Notes
- For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese to ensure smooth melting.
- This dish pairs well with pasta, rice, or steamed vegetables.
- Adjust seasoning to taste if needed.
