Description

Crispy Bang Bang Salmon Bites are a delicious and easy appetizer or main course, featuring tender salmon coated in a creamy and spicy Bang Bang sauce, air-fried to crispy perfection.

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless salmon fillets
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons granulated garlic
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1.5 teaspoons kosher salt (Diamond Crystal Kosher salt; reduce by half if using Morton’s)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 batch bang bang sauce (recipe below)
  • Nonstick cooking spray or oil for the air fryer basket
  • For the Bang Bang Sauce:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

Instructions

  1. To make the Bang Bang Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, rice vinegar, and kosher salt until smooth. Set aside.
  2. Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
  3. Cut the salmon fillets into 1-inch cubes. Add to a mixing bowl.
  4. Add the olive oil, granulated garlic, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper to the salmon and gently stir to evenly coat the salmon with everything.
  5. Add half of the bang bang sauce and stir gently again to coat the salmon evenly.
  6. Lightly spray the basket of your air fryer with cooking spray or oil.
  7. Add salmon cubes to the air fryer, taking care not to overcrowd the basket. You will likely need to do this in two or three batches.
  8. Cook for 8 minutes. You do not need to turn the fish during cooking.
  9. Serve drizzled with remaining Bang Bang Sauce.

Notes

  • If you don’t have an air fryer, you can bake these salmon bites in a preheated oven at 400°F (200°C) for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Adjust the Sriracha amount in the sauce to your preferred spice level.
  • Leftover Bang Bang Sauce can be stored in the refrigerator for up to a week and can be used as a dipping sauce for other dishes.
