- 2/3 cup milk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt

- 8 thick slices of bread (Texas toast or artisan-style)
- 2 heaping cups crispy rice cereal or crushed corn flakes
Instructions
- 1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, and vanilla until smooth.
- 2. Lightly crush the cereal and place it in a shallow dish.
- 3. Dip each bread slice into the custard mixture for 5 seconds per side.
- 4. Coat each slice in crushed cereal, pressing gently to help it stick.
- 5. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and grease lightly.
- 6. Cook bread slices for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
- 7. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- Use day-old bread for best results—it holds up to the custard.
- Crush cereal gently to maintain texture.
- To keep warm, place cooked slices on a wire rack in a 250°F oven.
- Reheat leftovers in a toaster or oven for crispiness.
