Description

Easy and crispy air fryer chicken tenders made with simple seasonings and panko breadcrumbs for a quick, delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds chicken tenderloins
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  1. Start by patting the chicken tenders thoroughly dry with paper towels; this ensures the breading sticks perfectly.
  2. In a wide, shallow bowl, whisk the egg until smooth. In a second bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each piece of chicken into the egg wash, allowing any excess to drip off, then press firmly into the seasoned panko mixture until fully coated.
  4. Arrange the tenders in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t touching to allow for maximum airflow.
  5. Give the tops a light mist of olive oil spray and air fry at 400°F (200°C) for about 4 to 5 minutes.
  6. Flip the tenders over, spray the other side lightly, and continue cooking for another 4 to 5 minutes until the exterior is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.

Notes

  • Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
  • For extra crispiness, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
