Description
Easy and crispy air fryer chicken tenders made with simple seasonings and panko breadcrumbs for a quick, delicious meal.
Ingredients
- 1.5 pounds chicken tenderloins
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- Olive oil spray
Instructions
- Start by patting the chicken tenders thoroughly dry with paper towels; this ensures the breading sticks perfectly.
- In a wide, shallow bowl, whisk the egg until smooth. In a second bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs with the garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Dip each piece of chicken into the egg wash, allowing any excess to drip off, then press firmly into the seasoned panko mixture until fully coated.
- Arrange the tenders in the air fryer basket in a single layer, ensuring they aren’t touching to allow for maximum airflow.
- Give the tops a light mist of olive oil spray and air fry at 400°F (200°C) for about 4 to 5 minutes.
- Flip the tenders over, spray the other side lightly, and continue cooking for another 4 to 5 minutes until the exterior is golden brown and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
Notes
- Ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F for safety.
- For extra crispiness, do not overcrowd the air fryer basket.
