Description

A creamy, tangy whipped feta dip made with simple ingredients, perfect for serving with toasted bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables as an easy appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
  • 2 ounces cream cheese, softened at room temperature
  • 1/3 cup high-quality extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Fresh thyme or red pepper flakes for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine the crumbled feta and softened cream cheese in the bowl of a food processor.
  2. Pulse the cheeses until they are mostly combined and starting to become smooth.
  3. With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil until the mixture reaches a light, whipped consistency.
  4. Add the fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, and black pepper. Pulse a few more times to incorporate these final aromatics.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Using the back of a spoon, create a shallow swirl on top.
  6. Drizzle with a touch more olive oil and garnish with fresh herbs or a pinch of red pepper flakes. Serve with toasted bread or fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • This dip can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; bring to room temperature before serving.
  • For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes.
  • Use high-quality feta for the best flavor.
