A creamy, tangy whipped feta dip made with simple ingredients, perfect for serving with toasted bread, crackers, or fresh vegetables as an easy appetizer.
Ingredients
- 8 ounces feta cheese, crumbled
- 2 ounces cream cheese, softened at room temperature
- 1/3 cup high-quality extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh thyme or red pepper flakes for garnish
Instructions
- Combine the crumbled feta and softened cream cheese in the bowl of a food processor.
- Pulse the cheeses until they are mostly combined and starting to become smooth.
- With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the extra virgin olive oil until the mixture reaches a light, whipped consistency.
- Add the fresh lemon juice, minced garlic, and black pepper. Pulse a few more times to incorporate these final aromatics.
- Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Using the back of a spoon, create a shallow swirl on top.
- Drizzle with a touch more olive oil and garnish with fresh herbs or a pinch of red pepper flakes. Serve with toasted bread or fresh vegetables.
Notes
- This dip can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days; bring to room temperature before serving.
- For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes.
