Description
Easy and flavorful chicken burgers packed with fresh spinach and melted white cheddar cheese, perfect for a healthy meal.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup fresh spinach, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup shredded white cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)
- Burger buns and desired toppings (lettuce, tomato, avocado, etc.)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, finely chopped spinach, shredded white cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, onion powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Use clean hands or a spoon to mix everything until just combined. The mixture may be slightly sticky.
- Divide the chicken mixture into four equal portions. Gently shape each portion into a patty, approximately 1/2-inch thick. If the mixture is too sticky, a little olive oil on your hands can help with shaping.
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Once the pan is hot, carefully place the chicken patties in it, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Cook in batches if necessary.
- Cook the burgers for about 5-6 minutes per side, or until they are beautifully golden brown and have reached an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
- Once cooked, transfer the burgers to a plate and allow them to rest for a couple of minutes.
- Toast your burger buns if desired, then assemble your chicken burgers with your favorite toppings such as fresh lettuce, juicy tomato slices, creamy avocado, or even a sprinkle of extra white cheddar cheese for an additional cheesy touch. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F for food safety.
- The mixture may be sticky; wet hands or use oil to shape patties easily.
- Customize toppings to suit your preferences for added flavor and nutrition.
