Description

A festive and fun snack mix inspired by the Grinch, featuring green-colored white chocolate drizzled over popcorn and mixed with red and green candies and sprinkles.

Ingredients

  • 12 cups popped popcorn (about 1/2 cup unpopped kernels)
  • 12 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or good quality white chocolate chips
  • Green food coloring (gel or liquid)
  • 1/2 cup heart-shaped candies (like conversation hearts or red M&Ms)
  • 1/2 cup red and green sprinkles
  • 1/4 cup mini marshmallows (optional, for texture)

Instructions

  1. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper. Spread the popped popcorn evenly over the sheet. Remove any unpopped kernels.
  2. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate wafers or chips. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Add green food coloring to the melted white chocolate, a few drops at a time, until you achieve your desired Grinch green color. Stir until well combined.
  4. Drizzle the green melted white chocolate evenly over the popcorn.
  5. Immediately sprinkle with heart-shaped candies, red and green sprinkles, and mini marshmallows (if using), ensuring even distribution before the chocolate sets.
  6. Let the popcorn sit at room temperature for about 30-60 minutes, or refrigerate for 15-20 minutes, until the white chocolate is completely set.
  7. Once set, break the popcorn into clusters and serve. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.

Notes

  • For best results, use gel food coloring as it provides a more vibrant color without thinning the melted chocolate too much.
  • Ensure the chocolate is fully melted and smooth before adding the coloring.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for optimal freshness.
