Description
Delicious and easy maple glazed pork chops, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops (about 1-inch thick)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- For the Maple Glaze: 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp dried thyme
Instructions
- Pat pork chops dry with paper towels and season generously with salt and pepper on both sides.
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet (preferably cast iron) over medium-high heat.
- Sear pork chops for 3-5 minutes per side, until golden brown and a crust forms.
- While chops are searing, prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, minced garlic, and dried thyme.
- Reduce heat to medium-low. Pour the maple glaze over the pork chops in the skillet.
- Cook, flipping the chops occasionally and spooning the glaze over them, for 5-8 minutes, or until the glaze has thickened and coats the chops, and the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F (63°C).
- Remove pork chops from the skillet and let them rest for 5 minutes before serving. Spoon any remaining glaze from the skillet over the chops.
Notes
- Ensure the internal temperature of the pork reaches 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption.
- For a richer flavor, consider using real maple syrup.
- Adjust the amount of salt and pepper to your preference.
- The glaze can be made ahead of time.
