Description

A fun and spooky Halloween treat, these Mummy Pigs in a Blanket are made with crescent rolls and hot dogs, perfect for parties or a festive snack.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Rolls (8 Count) or 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original Crescent Dough Sheet
  • 2.5 slices American cheese, quartered (2.5 oz)
  • 1 package (10 count) Oscar Mayer™ Classic Wieners Hot Dogs
  • Cooking spray
  • Mustard or ketchup, if desired, for eyes

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. If using a dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.
  3. With knife or pizza cutter, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces (under 1/2 inch wide), making a total of 40 pieces of dough.
  4. Wrap the crescent dough strips around a hot dog and a small slice of American cheese to form “bandages,” leaving a small gap for the “face” near the top. Repeat with the remaining hot dogs.
  5. Place wrapped hot dogs on an ungreased baking sheet.
  6. Bake 13-17 minutes or until dough is golden brown and hot dogs are heated through.
  7. Remove from oven. With mustard or ketchup, draw eyes on each mummy.

Notes

  • Ensure the cheese is cut small enough to be wrapped along with the hot dog.
  • Adjust baking time slightly depending on your oven.
  • Get creative with the eyes – peppercorns or small pieces of olives can also be used.
