Description
A quick and flavorful one-pan honey garlic chicken recipe featuring tender chicken pieces coated in a glossy sweet-savory sauce, perfect for weeknight dinners.
Ingredients
- 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1 lb), cut into ½-inch pieces
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons cooking oil
- ⅓ cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (optional, for heat)
- 2 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
Instructions
- Prepare the sauce by combining honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha (if using), toasted sesame oil, and cornstarch in a small bowl. Whisk until smooth and set aside.
- Cut the chicken breasts into uniform ½-inch pieces. Season them with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- Toss the seasoned chicken pieces with all-purpose flour until each piece is evenly coated.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and add the cooking oil. Once hot, add half of the floured chicken pieces to avoid overcrowding the pan. Cook until nicely browned on all sides and fully cooked through. Remove the cooked chicken and repeat with the remaining batch.
- Once all the chicken is cooked, return it to the skillet. Pour the prepared honey garlic sauce over the chicken. Bring the sauce to a simmer, stirring constantly, and cook for 2-3 minutes until it thickens and becomes glossy, coating the chicken beautifully.
- Serve hot, perhaps over rice, and garnish with sesame seeds or green onions if desired.
Notes
- Sriracha is optional and can be adjusted or omitted for a milder flavor.
- This recipe serves best with steamed rice or noodles to soak up the sauce.
- Garnish with sesame seeds or chopped green onions for added texture and color.
