Description

A simple and festive no-bake treat made from crushed Peppermint Oreos and cream cheese, dipped in white chocolate and topped with crushed candy canes.

Ingredients

  • 1 (14.3 ounce) package Peppermint Oreo cookies (or regular Oreos + 1/2 tsp peppermint extract)
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 16 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or bark
  • 1/4 cup crushed peppermint candy canes, for decorating

Instructions

  1. Place the Peppermint Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until finely crushed. Alternatively, place them in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the crushed Oreos and softened cream cheese. Mix until well combined and a dough forms.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. Refrigerate the Oreo balls for at least 30 minutes, or freeze for 15 minutes, until firm.
  5. Melt the white chocolate melting wafers according to package directions (microwave or double boiler).
  6. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off. Place back on the parchment-lined baking sheet.
  7. Immediately sprinkle with crushed peppermint candy canes before the chocolate sets.
  8. Refrigerate until the chocolate is firm. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Notes

  • If using regular Oreos, make sure to add 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract to the crumbs before mixing with the cream cheese.
  • Ensure the cream cheese is fully softened for easier mixing.
  • Do not skip chilling the balls; this prevents them from falling apart when dipped in chocolate.
