Description
A quick and delicious lemon garlic butter shrimp recipe featuring tender shrimp sautéed in a flavorful sauce with garlic, lemon, and butter, perfect for a fast weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- ½ tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 6-8 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
- 1 tbsp caper brine (optional)
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 3 tbsp butter, cut into cubes
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Warm a large skillet over medium heat. Add the olive oil and red pepper flakes, allowing the flakes to infuse into the oil for about 30 seconds to a minute.
- Introduce the peeled and deveined shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook the shrimp for approximately 1 minute per side, or until they begin to turn opaque and pink.
- Stir in the minced garlic, fresh lemon juice, and caper brine (if using). Continue cooking for another minute.
- Add half of the chopped parsley and the cubed butter to the pan. Gently swirl the pan by the handle as the butter melts, creating a rich sauce that coats the shrimp. This should take about 2-3 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Season with salt and black pepper to your preference.
- Garnish with the remaining fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- This recipe is best served hot and can be paired with pasta, rice, or crusty bread.
- Adjust red pepper flakes for desired spice level.
