Description

A creamy and spicy slow cooker dip featuring shredded chicken, hot sauce, ranch dressing, and melted cheese, perfect for parties or game day.

Ingredients

  • Cream cheese, 16 ounces total (two 8-ounce blocks), softened and cut into pieces
  • Pre-cooked chicken, shredded, about 4 cups
  • Original cayenne pepper hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot), 1 cup
  • Ranch salad dressing, 1 cup
  • Shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 1 cup, divided
  • Fresh green onions, 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Blue cheese crumbles, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Begin by placing the softened cream cheese chunks into the bottom of your slow cooker.
  2. Layer the shredded cooked chicken over the cream cheese.
  3. Next, pour in the cayenne pepper hot sauce and the ranch dressing.
  4. Add half of the shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture.
  5. Secure the lid on your slow cooker and cook on the “HIGH” setting for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the dip is thoroughly heated through and the cheeses are melted and bubbly.
  6. Once heated, give the dip a good stir until all ingredients are well combined and smooth.
  7. Sprinkle the remaining half of the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Add the chopped green onions.
  8. Replace the lid and continue cooking for an additional 15 minutes, allowing the topping cheese to melt completely.
  9. Serve this delectable dip warm, perhaps with an optional scattering of blue cheese crumbles for an extra layer of flavor.

Notes

  • This dip can be kept warm in the slow cooker on the ‘low’ setting for up to 2 hours.
  • Serve with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crackers for dipping.
  • Adjust the hot sauce amount to control the spiciness level.
