Description
A creamy and spicy slow cooker dip featuring shredded chicken, hot sauce, ranch dressing, and melted cheese, perfect for parties or game day.
Ingredients
- Cream cheese, 16 ounces total (two 8-ounce blocks), softened and cut into pieces
- Pre-cooked chicken, shredded, about 4 cups
- Original cayenne pepper hot sauce (such as Frank’s RedHot), 1 cup
- Ranch salad dressing, 1 cup
- Shredded sharp cheddar cheese, 1 cup, divided
- Fresh green onions, 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Blue cheese crumbles, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Begin by placing the softened cream cheese chunks into the bottom of your slow cooker.
- Layer the shredded cooked chicken over the cream cheese.
- Next, pour in the cayenne pepper hot sauce and the ranch dressing.
- Add half of the shredded cheddar cheese to the mixture.
- Secure the lid on your slow cooker and cook on the “HIGH” setting for approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the dip is thoroughly heated through and the cheeses are melted and bubbly.
- Once heated, give the dip a good stir until all ingredients are well combined and smooth.
- Sprinkle the remaining half of the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top. Add the chopped green onions.
- Replace the lid and continue cooking for an additional 15 minutes, allowing the topping cheese to melt completely.
- Serve this delectable dip warm, perhaps with an optional scattering of blue cheese crumbles for an extra layer of flavor.
Notes
- This dip can be kept warm in the slow cooker on the ‘low’ setting for up to 2 hours.
- Serve with tortilla chips, celery sticks, or crackers for dipping.
- Adjust the hot sauce amount to control the spiciness level.
