Description

A simple and creamy dip featuring smoked salmon, cream cheese, sour cream, and fresh herbs, perfect for parties or as an appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream (or Greek yogurt)
  • 4 oz smoked salmon, flaked (or finely chopped)
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, chopped, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tbsp fresh chives, chopped, plus more for garnish
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder (or 1 clove minced fresh garlic)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • Crackers, baguette slices, or vegetable sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add the sour cream, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Beat until well combined and creamy.
  3. Gently fold in the flaked smoked salmon, chopped dill, and chopped chives. Be careful not to overmix to maintain some texture from the salmon.
  4. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  6. Garnish with additional fresh dill and chives before serving.
  7. Serve with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or your favorite fresh vegetables.

Notes

  • For a tangier dip, use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream.
  • If using fresh garlic instead of powder, mince it finely.
  • Refrigerating the dip allows the flavors to fully develop.
  • Do not overmix after adding the salmon to keep some texture.
