Description
A flavorful and spicy appetizer featuring tender edamame pods tossed in a garlicky chili sauce, perfect for snacking.
Ingredients
- 1 lb frozen edamame in pods
- 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
- 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce (like Sambal Oelek)
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon honey
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the frozen edamame and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until tender but still vibrant green.
- Drain the edamame thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel to ensure the sauce adheres well.
- In a large wok or skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté just until fragrant and pale gold, being careful not to burn it.
- Stir in the chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey. Whisk for 30 seconds until the sauce begins to bubble slightly.
- Increase the heat to medium and toss in the cooked edamame. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes, ensuring every pod is coated in the spicy garlic glaze.
- Transfer to a bowl and serve immediately while hot.
Notes
- Serve hot for the best texture and flavor.
- Adjust spice level by reducing chili garlic sauce if desired.
