Description

A flavorful and spicy appetizer featuring tender edamame pods tossed in a garlicky chili sauce, perfect for snacking.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb frozen edamame in pods
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon chili garlic sauce (like Sambal Oelek)
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon honey

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the frozen edamame and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until tender but still vibrant green.
  2. Drain the edamame thoroughly and pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel to ensure the sauce adheres well.
  3. In a large wok or skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-low heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté just until fragrant and pale gold, being careful not to burn it.
  4. Stir in the chili garlic sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and honey. Whisk for 30 seconds until the sauce begins to bubble slightly.
  5. Increase the heat to medium and toss in the cooked edamame. Sauté for 1 to 2 minutes, ensuring every pod is coated in the spicy garlic glaze.
  6. Transfer to a bowl and serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • Serve hot for the best texture and flavor.
  • Adjust spice level by reducing chili garlic sauce if desired.
