Description
A simple and delicious meatloaf recipe that uses Stove Top stuffing mix for added flavor and moisture.
Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 (6 ounce) box Stove Top stuffing mix (any flavor, chicken or savory herb recommended)
- 1 cup water or milk
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1/4 cup ketchup (for topping, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a loaf pan or line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, contents of the Stove Top stuffing mix packet (dry, no need to prepare it separately), water or milk, and the beaten egg.
- Mix gently with your hands until all ingredients are just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can result in a tough meatloaf.
- Press the meat mixture evenly into the prepared loaf pan or shape it into a loaf on the baking sheet.
- If desired, spread a thin layer of ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) when measured with a meat thermometer.
- Once baked, remove from the oven and let the meatloaf rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Using chicken or savory herb flavored Stove Top stuffing mix is recommended for the best flavor.
- Do not overmix the ingredients to ensure a tender meatloaf.
- Allow the meatloaf to rest before slicing for easier handling and juicier results.
