Description
Watergate Salad, also known as Pistachio Salad, is a simple, no-bake dessert salad made with pistachio pudding mix, crushed pineapple, marshmallows, pecans, and whipped topping.
Ingredients
- 1 (3.4 ounce) package instant pistachio pudding mix
- 1 (20 ounce) can crushed pineapple, undrained
- 1 1/2 cups mini marshmallows
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans (or walnuts)
- 1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the dry instant pistachio pudding mix and the undrained crushed pineapple. Mix well until completely combined.
- Fold in the mini marshmallows and chopped pecans. Stir gently.
- Add the thawed whipped topping and fold it into the mixture until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1-2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld and the salad to set.
- Serve chilled.
Notes
- Pecans can be substituted with walnuts.
- Ensure the whipped topping is fully thawed before folding it in.
- Do not skip the chilling time as it is essential for the salad to set properly.
