Description

A festive twist on classic chocolate chip cookies, these Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Cookies feature white chocolate chips and optional festive sprinkles or a dusting of powdered sugar for a beautiful, snowy appearance.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup festive sprinkles (blue, white, silver) or powdered sugar for dusting (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Beat in the vanilla extract and then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
  6. Stir in the white chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
  9. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  10. For a ‘winter wonderland’ effect, dust cooled cookies with powdered sugar or sprinkle with festive sprinkles just before serving.

Notes

  • If using powdered sugar for dusting, wait until the cookies are completely cool.
  • Ensure butter is properly softened (room temperature) for best creaming results.
  • Do not overbake; slightly soft centers ensure a chewy cookie.
