A festive twist on classic chocolate chip cookies, these Winter Wonderland Chocolate Chip Cookies feature white chocolate chips and optional festive sprinkles or a dusting of powdered sugar for a beautiful, snowy appearance.
Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup festive sprinkles (blue, white, silver) or powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the vanilla extract and then add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined.
- Stir in the white chocolate chips.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- For a ‘winter wonderland’ effect, dust cooled cookies with powdered sugar or sprinkle with festive sprinkles just before serving.

- If using powdered sugar for dusting, wait until the cookies are completely cool.
- Ensure butter is properly softened (room temperature) for best creaming results.
- Do not overbake; slightly soft centers ensure a chewy cookie.
