Description
A simple and delicious recipe for baked boneless pork chops, seasoned with a savory blend of spices and seared to perfection before baking.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless pork chops, about 1-inch thick
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of each pork chop.
- Heat olive oil in an oven-safe skillet (like cast iron) over medium-high heat. Once hot, sear the pork chops for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown. This creates a nice crust.
- Transfer the skillet (or the pork chops to the prepared baking dish) to the preheated oven.
- Bake for 8-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the thickest part of the pork chop reaches 145°F (63°C) using a meat thermometer. Cooking time will vary based on thickness.
- Once cooked, remove from the oven and let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving. This helps keep them juicy.
Notes
- Ensure pork chops reach an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for safe consumption and optimal juiciness.
- Resting the pork chops after cooking is crucial for retaining moisture.
- Adjust seasoning to your personal preference.
