Ingredients
- 12 ounces protein-style pasta (such as chickpea or lentil rotini)
- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 2 cups low-fat cottage cheese
- 2 cups high-quality marinara sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- Salt and black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta for 2 minutes less than the package directions for al dente; drain and set aside.
- Brown the ground turkey in a large skillet over medium-high heat, seasoning with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs until fully cooked.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the cottage cheese and marinara sauce together to create a creamy pink sauce.
- Toss the cooked pasta and browned turkey with the sauce mixture until every piece is coated.
- Transfer to a 9×13-inch baking dish, top with the shredded mozzarella, and bake at 375°F for 20 minutes (covered) and 10 minutes (uncovered) until the cheese is bubbly.
