Description
A vibrant and healthy dragon fruit smoothie bowl made with frozen fruits for a thick, creamy texture, topped with fresh fruits and nuts for a refreshing breakfast or snack.
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen dragon fruit (pink or white)
- 1 large frozen banana
- 1/2 cup frozen pineapple
- 1/2 cup frozen cauliflower florets (optional, for thickness and nutrients)
- 1/4 cup water (or plant-based milk), plus more if needed for blending
- Optional toppings: fresh fruit (mango, kiwi, berries), granola, coconut flakes, chia seeds, nuts
Instructions
- Combine all the main ingredients – frozen dragon fruit, large frozen banana, frozen pineapple, frozen cauliflower florets (if using), and 1/4 cup water – into a high-speed blender.
- Start blending on a low speed, using a tamper if your blender has one, to push the frozen ingredients down towards the blades. The goal is to use as little liquid as possible to achieve a thick, scoopable consistency, similar to soft-serve ice cream or sorbet.
- Gradually increase the blender speed as the ingredients begin to break down and blend. You may need to stop and scrape down the sides of the blender a few times. Add a very small amount of additional water (one tablespoon at a time) only if absolutely necessary to keep the blades moving.
- Once the mixture is completely smooth and creamy, scoop it into a serving bowl.
- Garnish your smoothie bowl generously with your favorite toppings. Suggested toppings include fresh sliced fruit like mango, kiwi, or berries, crunchy granola, shredded coconut, chia seeds, or a sprinkle of nuts.
- Serve immediately with a spoon and enjoy the vibrant, refreshing bowl.
Notes
- For the thickest consistency, use frozen fruits and minimal liquid.
- Cauliflower adds hidden nutrients without altering flavor.
- Customize toppings based on dietary preferences.
