Description

A quick and easy recipe for pan-seared salmon with a flavorful garlic butter sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  3. Place salmon fillets skin-side down (if applicable) in the hot skillet. Sear for 4-6 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  4. Flip the salmon fillets. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet.
  5. Cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through to your desired doneness (internal temperature reaches 145°F/63°C). As the butter melts, spoon the garlic butter over the salmon several times to baste.
  6. Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley into the butter sauce.
  7. Serve the salmon immediately, spooning the garlic butter sauce over each fillet.

Notes

  • For crispy skin, ensure the salmon is thoroughly patted dry before searing.
  • Adjust garlic and lemon juice to your preference.
  • Other fresh herbs like dill or chives can be used as a substitute for parsley.
