Description
A quick and easy recipe for pan-seared salmon with a flavorful garlic butter sauce, perfect for a weeknight meal.
Ingredients
- 2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets skin on or off
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
Instructions
- Pat salmon fillets dry with paper towels. Season both sides generously with salt and black pepper.
- Heat olive oil in a large non-stick or cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Place salmon fillets skin-side down (if applicable) in the hot skillet. Sear for 4-6 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
- Flip the salmon fillets. Reduce heat to medium. Add butter and minced garlic to the skillet.
- Cook for another 3-5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through to your desired doneness (internal temperature reaches 145°F/63°C). As the butter melts, spoon the garlic butter over the salmon several times to baste.
- Remove the skillet from heat. Stir in fresh lemon juice and chopped parsley into the butter sauce.
- Serve the salmon immediately, spooning the garlic butter sauce over each fillet.
Notes
- For crispy skin, ensure the salmon is thoroughly patted dry before searing.
- Adjust garlic and lemon juice to your preference.
- Other fresh herbs like dill or chives can be used as a substitute for parsley.
